WHY?

“Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers;

Kokoda Spirit is the leading provider of adventure treks across the Kokoda Track in PNG and the operator of some of the World’s Greatest Adventures. We at Kokoda Spirit saw a need to provide an opportunity for our adventurers to experience raw, explorative and challenging adventures while contributing to worthwhile and purposeful projects, charities and fundraising organisations overseas and in Australia.

Our adventures are designed for individual participation, groups, teams, sporting groups, community groups or corporate organisations looking for significant and worthwhile ways to raise funds whilst participating in exciting and challenging adventures.

You can fundraise and join one of our major charity adventures or develop and design your own project. This is a fantastic way for individuals or groups to raise funds for community, group, club or other worthwhile projects. You nominate the adventure you want to do and the amount that you wish to raise and we make it happen.

Kokoda Spirit provides a comprehensive and complete professional travel and fundraising service from the development of the idea, through to the logistics, implementation and final success of the project.

Kokoda Spirit Charity Fundraising FAQs

How did Kokoda Spirit Charity and Fundraising programs come about?

Kokoda Spirit through its own Spirit Foundation and associated organisations were seeking a more efficient and cost effective way to maximise the fundraising potential of its adventure programs.
The Kokoda Spirit Charity and Fundraising programs were developed to provide a comprehensive “one stop fundraising shop” for organisations, foundations and individuals. This complete in-house service eliminates any need for “third party” “Fundraising Agencies” that charge registration fees of $700 plus then outsource the adventure program!

What is a Kokoda Spirit Charity Fundraising Adventure?
Kokoda Spirit owns, operates and organisers some of the World’s Greatest Adventures. This allows us to organise, and tailor your very own adventure challenge be it a trek along the Kokoda Track or
our Bike/Trek Coast to Coast Challenge in PNG, the Sandakan Track or Orangutan and Pygmy Elephant Safari in Borneo, the Kimberley’s adventure, climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, trekking up to Everest Base Camp or trekking and mountain biking through exciting Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam. We can run trips as per our itinerary or design a specific itinerary to suit your requirements. Kokoda Spirit is the adventure operator and fundraising champions, so we cost effectively facilitate, create and professionally manage all the logistics required for a successful charity adventure challenge. This includes working closely with the fundraising organisation in developing the marketing, advertising and information packs to ensure the complete success of the fundraising program. This may include changing direction of the trek, adding or subtracting days, adding extra destinations or focusing on key interest areas. Whatever your requirements we can tailor the perfect tour. Every year we arrange many Charity and Fundraising group treks across the Kokoda Track for charities, groups of friends, family, school groups, teams, and clubs and special interest groups. Some of the groups have followed our existing schedules on their own choice of dates. Many groups travel on their own itinerary, adjusting the adventure to suit their interests’ better. Whatever your interests, we are sure we will be able to arrange the ideal tour!

What organisations have you assisted?
Some recent Charity and Fundraising groups have included or supported the following, Tally Ho Fitness group, Kokoda Chicks (Breast Cancer Foundation), Mission Australia, Chancellor State College, Victorian RSL, Blue Ribbon, Prostrate Cancer, Debra Foundation, PTSD, Picking up the Pieces, Rotary plus a host of other individual people and organisations. Kokoda Spirit can tailor a specialised Kokoda Track or one other of our adventure packages to suit your requirements, including dates, direction, group size, number of trekking days, activities, dietary requirements and other requests. We organise specialist treks for 1 person or 100 persons the choice is yours, there is some price variations based on the size of the group, but groups of 7 or more qualify for our group discount. We are very flexible in organising your requests.

What support do I get from Kokoda Spirit with my fundraising?
Kokoda Spirit organises the complete adventure fundraising package. We organise everything from your flights, insurance, travel, training programs, and fundraising programs to what to expect and gear lists. All you need to do is train and chase your fundraising target! We can also organise information nights for your group to discuss your requirements, itineraries, targets, fundraising ideas and to go through the essential gear list and preparations to ensure all members of the group are thoroughly prepared. We can also put you in touch with other groups to discuss successful fundraising campaigns. When you join one of our adventures we send you a confirmation pack which includes information on fundraising ideas, FAQ, training programs, inclusions, general information, planning schedules, a background of the destination and what to expect plus comprehensive itinerary. We will also stay in contact with you to assist in your fundraising programs and offer support and encouragement. We also keep in monthly contact to monitor your fitness and training programs. We are available weekdays to assist you with support and advice.

What are the costs to me?
We do not have any registration fee, just a straight price for the trip depending on your selection and the required fundraising amount required by the fundraising/charity organisation. Some organisations charge a $700 registration fee; this is not required by us! We also donate a further $200 to the charity nominated. This could equate to extra fundraising per person per trip of $900!* An average trek will have 12 people on it which could equate to a massive $10,800 raised* for the charity!
